Professorship for Business Administration, especially for the Economy of Japan
East Asia is one of the most dynamic regions of the world. The re-emergence of this economic powerhouse and the increasing integration of global economies creates a window of opportunity to explore business practices embedded in complex and fast changing environments. Our team aims to equip students with much sought-after international management skills and prepare them for a range of career options, ranging from businesses dealings with Japanese and East Asian companies to internationally operating organizations more generally.
We offer a range of modules focussing on the economic, political and social factors that form today’s international business and management environment, in both theoretical and practical terms.
We offer a rigorous overview of international management and cross-cultural communication, incorporating state-of-the-art trainings and in-depth discussions of academic contributions.
International management is best discussed in a diverse classroom setting. We encourage exchange students to take part in our courses, the vast majority of which are taught in English.
Our research focuses on various aspects of international management and team diversity. We explore how firms manage expatriates and investigate the drivers and effects of global labor migration.
